Care & maintenance

• Wipe the head dry after use and apply a light coat of mineral oil or gun oil to prevent rust.
• Avoid storing the axe long-term in a damp environment or inside a wet sheath.
• If the leather sheath looks dry, treat it occasionally with leather conditioner or mink oil.
• Do not strike stone, metal or other very hard materials – this can damage the edge.
• Sharpen with a stone or fine file, following the existing bevel.
